There are two types of power distribution systems in a Torn.E.b battery box. One is through a bakelite junction box, and the other involves a circular metal outcropping. How is the second type of system used?

I just have this photo of the incorrectly restored box that I posted before:
http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...36&postcount=4
The female five pin socket is screwed on top of the bracket against the left inner wall of the box. the wires to the batteries are soldered directly to the plug.

Hi Yuri.
Here is a picture of the late model battery box you are looking for:
The picture is from a book of Wolfgang-D. Schröer (DL7HZ), there are more pictures of it in the book, but I don't like to publish other peoples work, the book is called "Tornister-Empfänger Berta" Band II, "Restaurierung und Inbetriebnahme". Is is available for buying at his webpage, along with other excellent books:
http://www.wschroeer.de/
I have the book myself and can highly recomend it, if you are interested in restoring and in the technical details. I surely hope he don't mind me postnig this one picture, now that I have recommended, his books.

Santa was late...!
Hi All
Just got home to find a big box at my door. A Torn Eb with cover & battery box with cover. The battery box is the later type exactly as below with tray, straps, cables etc. Unfortunately the power cable that links the 2 boxes has been cut at the plug & socket. (ie male & female connector on the cable) I have both connectors with about half an inch of cable on each. My question is "how long is the cable that links the 2 boxes?"
If someone has one, would they mind measuring the cable length "ferrule to ferrule" please?
Thanks,.>Rob
PS Pics of both radio & battery box up soon as I can take some...

Hi all,
If I may come up with another type of battery case that puzzles me ?
This case has original paintwork. But nothing stencilled on top to determine what it is. No "Zubehörkasten" or "EWf1" or something: nothing.
It is practically the same as the standard Torn Eb battery case. with space for 2B38 and rails for the drawer of the EWb or anod-battery.
But no shelf.
No holes where the 5-pin plug receiver would have been.
No place where a bakelite connetion box would have been.
Only two marks that may point at something that was mounted above the EWb. Two short strips of which the right one is partly still there.
What can it be ? I use it for a Torn Eb now, but was it originally intended for it ?
Regards,
Ton.
