This is a weather balloon barometric pressure measurement instrument, and transmitter. It measures pressure and sends the information back down to the ground.

Was the information used by the Luftwaffe for the weather forcast and airplane information?
Do you have a wartime picture of this item?

It was used by anyone interested in getting this information. I don't have any photos of it being used.
