Bergmutze? Opinions please

Hi Guys,

Please would you be so kind as to let me know your opinions on this cap- it is old but I'm not holding out a lot of hope on it

It has the type of brown buttons seen on mountain caps but no leather sweatband so really I suppose it is an M43

Strange stamping ? Strange making ?
Not only the buttons makes it a Bergmütze or not !
I've seen some M43 WH adapted period for GJ units with these small buttons ...

This cap is missing many of the features of a classic Bergmutze. It looks like a fake to me.

Thanks all for confirming- I think the wool may be period, it does appear to be Polizei colour as suggested
