    GBJ Schirmmütze

    Hi All,

What do you think of this Gebirgsjäger schirmmütze?
The cap belonged to a member of the 138 Gebirgsjäger regiment according to the stamp inside.
As this is not my field of expertise, I am looking for your opinions.
    Let me know.

    Kind regards,

    AW

My guess is it’s owner died early on..since he never added the edelweiss which I believe was approved 39 or 40..Billbert

                      Hi Bilbert,

That is a very interesting theory you got there, although the seller stated it came from a private household of the carrier. But it is of course still possible the owner died but that the family kept the visor. Do you or anyone else know when the wearing of the edelweiss was exactely approved?

                      Let me know.

                      Kind regards,

                      AW

Not important when the Edelweiss was approved, since not everyone was wearing it. I had several GBJ Visors without it, there was no regulation that anyone needed to put it on. A lot where wearing it because they where proud, some simple didn't care at all. I would talk with Phillip and look to get a good Price what usually he will do, and then you have a nice upgraded Visor in good Condition.

I made a deal with Phillip, so hopefully I can welcome this nice visor very soon.
