    ss visor makers name

Gday I am looking at buying an early 1930s ss visor !st pattern eagle 2nd pattern skull. The makers name inside is j.Heiner.Esser Hotlfeferant Herrenhute Mutzen-Fabrik Koln.20 Krebsgasse 20. I think the spelling on 1 word is wrong by me because I cannot see it clearly enough. Will try an get a photo to put up.Has anyone heard of this maker and what are your thoughts members?

Hotlfeferant probably should be Hoflieferant ... it means "Royal warrant of appointment" ...

Hi Revi. Thanks for the reply. The visor sure looks original, has reasonable provenence, so i am hoping the maker is genuine and rarer so as not to be one of the more common ones made.

Also members, how rare are the white topped dinner ss visors ? The white fabric can be removed and cleaned and I have an opportunity to buy it.

Well I searched the Adressbuch 1935 for Köln but I couldn't find little and no suiting Heiner, more Heinen but no visormakers, if that name in the visor is spelled correctly. I suppose it would be the best if you get some pictures and have some knowledgeable members here check the visor, provenance is mostly just a story, white visors are highly faked. Best!

Ah alright. It's (J.?) Heinrich Esser ... there was an Esser & Co., address checks out alright. I'll check the Militäreffekten later ( "siehe Anzeige im Gewerbe verzeichnis unter Militäreffekten / Look under militaria parts ). Becoming a member costs you $35 for a year, good investment for a check on items of a much higher costs you would like to buy, I suppose .

Don't y'all love it when 30-odd bucks and 73 posts transforms someone into a super being and entitles them to look down upon and deride the humble 'Member' asking for help.

Could be an unhappy translation attempt Ian ? But he is right, $35 could safe a lot of cash flow.
Anyway ... found this one too, 1941 ... with added "vorm." in the txt which, if I am correct, means vormalig or formally. It would mean that something in the Esser company / J.Heinrich has changed somewhere prior to 1941.
