HBT cap. RAD?

Hello all,
In looking at some of my stuff I remembered this cap. I got it at a street market here in Normandie a few years ago. I am aware that the RAD had an issue HBT cap, is this perhaps such? I cannot make out the stamps in the lining, one definitely has the date 1944, the other looks like 44/651.
Any help will be gratefully received.

Can only say after seeing this one that it shares a common denominator with the others posted in the trop thread....odd. It conveys certain design features like the others that would certainly have collectors questioning their authenticity, sorry to say. My 2 cents.

Hello Robert,

Yes...odd, particularly when you take into account that one came from UK, one from Germany and the last from France, all spread over a 20 year period. I must be a magnet to these oddities!

Luckily this one cost about 10 Euros, so it is disposable, a new fishing hat I guess
