"Warm" grey and "Cool" grey - can be subjective, I suppose

Could be wrong . . . but in the pics on my screen, band looks cool grey/blue grey [as for Sonderfuhrer] to me - not warm grey/red grey [as for Kriegsdauer] . . . [although, the pic that shows the inside of the band might make me think otherwise] . . . That is, if the band color is what dictates the deciding factor between the two [with my thoughts coming from here: http://www.reiss.dk/hats/categories/GermanWaffenfarbe/]

      Oh - wait a minute . . . I'm out, as I discovered the explanation get's way more complicated - and something I don't know.

Looking at this: http://moebius.freehostia.com/beamten1.htm I found the following claim:

Cap bands for officer's caps (both the dress cap and the "crusher"), as well as field blouse and greatcoat collars, and the soutache on the new style field cap, all were to be rendered in blue-grey. This was the same uniform colour worn by the Luftwaffe, and in fact, Luftwaffe basic cloth was supposed to be utilized. . . .

Not sure how that translates to this discussion yet, but I think this might get interesting - hope to learn something new here!

Thank you for posting that. You made me get off my fat ass and look in a little deeper...

That's a translation of Heeres-Verordungsblatt H.V. 1941 No.647, which references back to Allgemeine Heeresmitteilungen H.M. 1941 No. 110 which references back to H.M. 1940 No. 426 "Uniform und Abzeichen der Sonderführer im Offizierrang und der Beamten a.K.

I stand corrected and due to the dark green piping Solo is correct.

My apologies for passing on incorrect information.

        Cheers
        Larry

It ist not a Sonderführer visor. Sonderführer caps had no green piping.

It is a standard Heeresbeamte visor which was transferred to a visor cap for Beamte auf Kriegsdauer (Beamte a.K.), adding the blueish cover. This may have happened because the branch of the Beamte a.K. was introduced in 1939 and there haven`t been enough caps at that time.

          Here are similar caps:
