    Help needed with M-42 cap.

I have the possibility of picking up a M-42 cap with T-insignia and grey artificial silk lining. It's been in the same collection for 25+ years. Since it appears that M-42 caps were not produced in large numbers, and I haven't seen or handled any, would the maker Albert Kempt be valid ??? Would it be possible for someone to post any period pics or pics of an actual cap so I can study the details on what to look for to make sure that sure that the one I'm being offered is legit. Does any one know how many makers produced M-42 caps ?

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Yes, sorry, you are right, my mistake , it's Albert Kempf, Mutzenfabrik, W. RONSDORF, M 42 in blue ink in a box outline. size 53. Is this a known maker of M-42 caps ?

Yes,certainly a maker during the TR but probably more known for making hats after the war..I think they are still in business today.

Your hat sounds like it is probably OK .

Albert Kempf, Mutzenfabrik, W. Ronsdorf also known by the trade name Alkero , ie Al (bert) K (empf) Ro(nsdorf).
Exactly, they're still in business today , but M42 caps haven't been in their inventory since a long time.
