WH OS Cap too good to be true

Same picker that brought a bad helmet in also had this hat for consideration. Dealer and I think it is too new. No difference in the wool color between the exposed wool and the wool covered by the flap. Sorry but I had a hard time getting a straight on shot of the eagle.

            Hello,

The grommets in the hat, nine petals with square ends, and the grommet posted by 90th light, 6 pedals with rounded ends, are worlds apart.

Derka, I am unfamiliar with headgear grommets. Can you tell me why you do not like the ones on the hat?

The eagle is a nice original which has been reapplied.

Well believe it or not Fred,

there are only suppose to be 6 "petals" as you call them but someone has squeezed the crimping tool hard and split some of them on the cap that started this.

However, the unique/ recognizable feature to this type of grommet is the short, neat "rounded ends" which can be seen clearly on both the example I have shown and the cap which started this thread,

So the verdict is this is a copy with original Eagle?

                  Hello Chris,

I see what you mean about squeezing the crimping tool a little too hard. The "Pedals" are flat and not arched on the discussed cap. It seems like there are more "Pedals" on the posted cap.

                    Hi Chris,

No, they are the same type used in this other one :

But as noticed by Fred, an original eagle is applied on the sidecap shown in loggie's pics.
