Kriegsmarine Tropical Peakcap need help

Hi All,
Posting for a friend who picked up this Kriegsmarine Tropical peak cap. any thoughts.
I don't know if the top is removable or does it have any eyelets / vent holes. These are the only pics I have from him.

This cap is a french navy cap with removable top "adapted" to become a KM
one but when ?
IMO a post war one with a plastic band around the visor ?

These so-called "plastic" bands around the visor has been exist during the war i think there must be somewhere a thread on WAF about this subject

I was talking about a french navy post war cap !
Germans had some "ersatz" band on the visor i agree,but not french caps period .
It came only post war , as for the Kepis visors .
