I am pretty sure I know the answer on this one already, but JUST in case there is something I am missing, could I please get some comment on this cap. The eagle appears to be fine. The cockade looks fine (but has a slight glow under UV light). The biggest issue seems to be that they are on the wrong type of cap! It looks to me as if someone has attempted to make it look like a HG division side cap. The eagle is the standard grey LW EM pattern, although it does look almost white in some of the images due to my poor photography. Various collectors that have seen the cap have come up with theories such as a "variant mechanics cap" (doubt it severely as it is in black wool not hbt), or a very late war unissued LW field division of unknown origin. There is little to no sign of wear or loss of nape to the wool material. The only markings are the white size "60" to the inner. Has anyone seen this type of cap (real or repro) before?
