    General Visor

Finally found a general's visor. But I want to make sure it is textbook before dropping the coin. Thanks for your opinions!

Don't know about the visor, but the price appears to be extremely cheap for an orginal Generals cap?

It is an auction and that is just the starting bid.

Just to be on the safe side, I would do some research on the "heavyweight fakes" out there - AM is one of the logos that were used for those - Stonemint has a great thread on the WAF about them, and I have a beautiful repro general's visor that was an August Müller heavyweight.

So I guess this just shows the WAF is "dealer averse" when it comes to saying something is not right as rain.

Come on, guys. Everyone knows I have a VERY liberal discussion policy regarding hats, and I would be 100% happy to provide the hat in question to ANY expert for in-hand evaluation. Furthermore, I would be HAPPY to post additional photos of the visor. Please just ask me what you want, and I will be glad to post. If something is not right, I immediately pull it, and yes, my prices are low opening bids

Bit strange is the metal kockade which is applied over the bullion one ..

That's a really interesting observation (metal cockade over bullion). I want to look at that up-close tomorrow at work. I will try to post pictures of that part, in addition to ANY other areas people want to see.

Glad to oblige, Don. I'll post here later today. Also, I got an email from a member who stated:

Just reading about the generals visor cap and its metal cockade, ... I think it was reasonably common to find this combination on Luftie caps, I have a lovely early Erel general officer visor cap, and it too has a metal cockade over the bullion portion, I can send you photos of it if you like.
I will post these pics also, if I get them.

I love the look of the metal Cockade.
