I wouldn't be so sure that is DRK cap . It might be Reichswehr style army cap. Look at the photo below .

Agreed, color is wrong for Heer and DRK had the same style cap.

DRK for sure. (1st pattern) de-nazified, you can tell where the DRK oval once sat covering up most of the soutache!
Here's mine for comparison! Same DRK gray color, just looks more LW blue in the picture because of the flash!

              Yes,1st. pattern DRK overseas cap
These caps had 2 non-functional,cloth-covered (grey or black) buttons.....
The early Reichswehr caps also had these 2 buttons but these were plain metal,no cloth....

The DRK also used the type of cap shown on Anmarlodz picture.... the one with the high soutasche and a cockade placed on top of it , partly covering the soutasche.
This is a early (somewhere around ' 34) cap...
I will see if I can find a war-time picture of these type of caps in wear

Here's a war-time picture of the 1st.pattern DRK overseas cap in wear.
These early caps are rare and hard to find in a good condition.

Here's a rare picture of DRK men wearing both the very early M34 overseas cap with the cockade at the front, covering the soutasche (only worn for a short period of time) and the variant shown in the pictures above , with the oval 1 st. pattern DRK cap eagle....
