Side cap piping question.

Hello gents,
i'm a bit disappointed about the original mounting of the waffenfarbe piping who features this side cap.

What do you think?

I never have seen these hand stitchings where the piping turn up on the tucked area and i think the piping is not original because it's not the rayon type.

Looks textbook to me. I've seen many done like that. I don't see a problem with it.

honestly, i never have seen a weird mounting like this...

I would say that the actual soutache braid is ,and post war applied.IMO



Otherwise a nice looking overseas.

Funny, when I purchased this cap off of E-stand, there were no complaints then, and it was praised. Now the satouche is being condemned as post war applied?
I would like to hear from the person also who sold it to me on e-stand, and was stated as vet acquired.

Maybe also the Moderator can find the thread?

If the satouche is bad, as stated by the experts now, should I be entitled to a full refund?

Sorry to hear that Steve, was there a thread on this cap before sold on e-stand?..

I cant comment on the way it is sewn but I have seen this type of russian braid before and I dont belive it is original either.. it is definetly not rayon..

Would be interesting to hear more about that vet story

Well I have not heard anything. And I have received the cap back and issued a refund through Paypal.
I relisted the cap for sale for $400.00 (at a loss to me) which is a steal if the braid is bad or not. The eagle and cocarde are unquestionable.
