    LW Fliegermütze insignia swastika question

I've read in a Gary Wilkins's collector's guide that "the vertical main bar of the swastika crosses over the horizontal bar in nine out of ten examples. This is actually a tendency rather than a rule of thumb, and a reversed arrangement does not necessarily disqualify a cap." Do you believe the first part of the statement to be accurate? I've been monitoring published LW caps on this forum and I find it rather to be just opposite or perhaps a 50/50 situation. To me it seems like the second part of the sentence is the main point: the crossing of swastika's bars does not tell you anything. What do you think?

Guys, this is not about a specific item. I was just wondering if Gary Wilkins is right about the 9/10 ratio. Should you be more careful around caps with swastika's main vertical bar crossing UNDER the horizontal bar or not?

I understand your question and i have the same book.

I dont agree with the author.

There are several other inaccurate statements included throughout.

As you, i researched consistencies with this description and found there was no bias towards either type.

Authors observations are sometime right and sometimes wrong.

Agree, all seems to simply depend on the manufacturer of the eagle, some embroidered them one way, others the opposite. To claim to know an accurate percentage one way or the other is irresponsible.
