              Most probably all the cap is fake,I " discovered" a very similar one at Ciney show this year,same insignia.same application,same lining,just another maker stamp...avoid this one !

                      Were these caps still being made in 1944, as per the stamping? I thought they were, officially at least, replaced by the M43 feldmutze, although I know that these 'schiffen" were worn until war's end.
