          I always wondered if there are different patterns concerning the core of the Edelweiss, i.e. yellow-gold colored and none colored?

          Thus are these complete plain Edelweiss in fact caused by wear or have they perhaps been issued without core paint??

            Pretty sure all Edelweiß had the golden core, and the only ones you see without either have a layer of corrosion over them, or have completely worn down.
