I personally do not have the knowledge to comment on the berets in question ... but neither does Oakleaf, do a search here and on the Tony Barto SS Forum and you will find countless examples of Oakleaf's inadequasies (and that is being kind )

I know a woman who is a big vintage clothing collector. She has examples of one piece circular woven women's wool berets - likely from the same period. Two-piece construction seems very counter-intuitive.
