Infantry Visor cap

Hello,
I was offered this visor cap. There's something not right about it, but perhaps I'm wrong. The insignia is atleast reapplied I'd say, but the shape of the cap is strange. I'm considering the possibility that someone added the metal ring post war, what causes the strange shape.

or.. the cap just is a replica. What do you think?

I can't fault the cap too much from these pictures, perhaps indeed the wreath and the adler have been reapplied. Look for empty holes on the pasteboard and the lining. I'd like to see the pleats again since the last picture is too blurry. Also I want to see the sweatband closely to see if there are signs that the sweatband has been reattached.

The shape of the cap is likely due to storing the cap upside down for a long time over the years. The crown stiffener is likely bent out of shape already.
