Your Thoughts on this Army M34 Mil Police Hat

    Hi WAF Members,

I'm interested in this Heer M34, Field Police Overseas hat and I would like your thoughts on it. The pictures shown are all I have at the moment. The eagle looks like a early, pre-war mouse grey cotton eagle. from what I can see, all insignia including the piping are machine sewn. It has a size mark in it but I do not see a maker stamp. The current owner will be sending more pictures. at first gland it seems like a good hat? I would like to know your thoughts on this? All comments welcome.

    Steve

From my limited knowledge, that's not a Police M34 at all. That's just a standard Heer M34. However, i don't know what the orange soutach signifies.

With the pre-war insignia I would expect this to be a recruiter's cap not Feldgendarmerie, as orange was the Waffenfarbe for recruiting then, but I have to agree with Lenny; this cap is a fairly recent fake (IMO).

Thank you all for your help on this. I do remember seeing a few threads covering these newest fakes on the market. Best regards, Steve
