I agree Kurt. I do not get a GJ vibe out of it either - just not bright enough for me to make that leap without other indicators. Of course it could have been bought and worn by a GJ man. Who knows? A decent cap in any event.

There are vented (grommeted) erels without the vented roundel, and also non-grommeted erels with the vented roundels in place. It was not an exact science. Any combination is/was possible IMO. Same goes for Frischlufts and Stirndruckfries.
