    Indeed Alex, the fakes have been around since I began collecting in the 60s and in the mid 70s fakes were everywhere. Without any solid WWII provenance, the cap in question is not of much value.

    Have seen many field produced caps, the real deals usually have a "look" of age, wear, and grime which is difficult to reproduce.

      Well, the cap is in the right section:

      Bazaar- Any other militaria-related items for sale, such as reproductions, etc.

      To bad the seller forgot to mention that little detail
