    Cossack Kubanka for Review

I picked this up from a auction house, and it looks correct to me. It is one of the "issue" types, and hopefully compares favorably with those from the same maker / supplier.

I know we have some Don / Kuban Cossack pros out there, and would appreciate a review. Thanks in advance for the help.

    s/f Robert

Would love to get one of these. Hope this one's good. Would be interested to learn what the pros know of these.

I know that many Cossack Kubankas were their original issue, and they were modified with cockades, eagles, tress, and the like. Attempting to identify pre-1945 modifications would be very challenging and speculative on those, but these Prague-made ones seem "of a type".

Anyway, opinions are welcome, and Happy New Year!

                  regards, Robert

Great looking Kubanka. I believe its a good one. It appears to be identical to the 2 I own. One of them came from Bob Hritz via a Vet. Heres the link:

                          Jim,

That is one great piece of detective work! I've read your detailed thread on the two Kubanka's, and found it fascinating.

                          regards, Robert

                            thanks Robert,

From wartime photos its apparent that numerous styles were worn. However this particular style is one of the few accepted as original among the collecting community. Jim
