M43 Fake or Not ?

Hello, I have a M43 that I wonder a litle about, the guy that sold it to me told it was a cap that was finished after the war, it was foundin a german cap factory that made cap's during the war but it was not yet finished, so after the war it was put in interior and a after war sweatband and buttons just stuck in .
can this be true and if so what is the value?
the cloth looks good and ww2 ish compared to one of my original jackets.

I think it is a typical post war material and construction cap. You can find lots of these on ebay.de. Sometimes they try to sell them as originals.
