Looks good to me as well,I don't see anything that would point to it being dyed post war.

          Hi Daniele,
i don't see nothing wrong in your side cap; eventually, you can have a look to the bottom edge seam (the one who held in place the internal cotton lining) and compare it with the flap one... If it's the very same thread (as i see) there is nothing wrong...

            Thanks Glenn and Alex,

It s indeed a nice untouched hat that was denazified unfortunately,

i will take a picture of the thread inside the lining that was stitched to the eagle so you see where the swastica was.

If it had been dyed, I would expect to see greater effect on the lining. Cap appears to be all original save for the de-nazification.

Although wool is not my area of collecting, a bit of logic comes into play when stating that the cap has at some point been dyed.
If so, why has the lining not been drastically darkened, and the thread is consistantly coloured internaly and externaly?
The lining would require considerable washing to remove the dye (wool takes a lot of dye to get such a rich consistant depth of colour - the lining would reflect this) - the images I see do not reflect this having happened.
Daniele - Wonderful Cap! I also would leave the eagle as is. It is part of this caps history - and even though some might find it detractive visually, that is what we are collecting.
                    Best Regards,
                    Mark

Hi Daniele and all the other members

I wish I had more of quality real O.S Pz. Caps like this one.
Unfortunately they are very difficult to obtain, even more so in untouched condition.

Daniele; Now are you the owner of this very rare cap, but I would recommend you ; nothing change to the cap; So it is an untouched cap. Nothing is resewing.

If you are modifying something, is the cap just one of many restored. They're also easier to find .

                              You are the owner now,

                              Kind Regards
                              Andi
