really i have only seen in the forum, may be 2 or 3 original, but there was differences among them, this differences i saw are,2 stitching rows or 1 stitching row and the differents font of "sonderklasse",i have one km sailor,s cap labeled by cobra, and it is ok imo(was told by km-spain,a friend of mine who has the most important collection of km items, here in spain)too i send pics a year ago to NTZ,stonemint, and other people in forum and was ok for them.mine has metallic print leaves logo and one stitching row and different font of sonderklasse.i attatched to you a link:

time passed and i think is not posible to see another COBRA logo -logos or further info as i know about this maker...

i attatched more pics and opinions from KM-SPAIN who took on his hands the cap a couple of years ago and opinion from harrier(another forum member)

first KM-SPAIN opinionHi all, as Fernando have said I have had this one in my hands, construction is OK, materials are OK, the diamond is celluloid and not plastic, ... in the other side Cobra is known for some copìes made by Janke. I know that Janke used celluloid in some copy caps (I have a KM one from him to study the construction with celluloid), and the quality of the KM caps made from him is really good, at least the few I have seen in hands, but also the logo used by him from Cobra is different from this, that is alomost identical to some original caps of other branches made by Cobra.

can I say 100% good?, no as Fernando knows, but also I can not say bad for this or this ....

I know that this doesn't help too much, but is all far I can go with this one..
            km-spain

2)opinion from harrierThis appears to be the accepted Cobra logo in silver, so I would feel good about your cap. Some say that this logo, in black, is only used on reproductions, but I am not sure at all that this is correct. It is possible that the black logo may also have been used during the war. The quality of construction and component materials is the real key, I believe. The 'leder' stamp is also fine, but is reproduced also with accuracy on postwar caps. I believe that it is only fair that you also know that there is a dispute in some circles over whether or not the style of "Sonderklasse" mark used on your cap is correct. Some say the letter font should be different and that the repro maker Janke used the style shown on your cap. Also, I have seen disputes about whether the celluloid diamond should be attached with one row of stitching or a double row.So we have 3 areas of "collector concern": 1.) Color of logo
            2.) Style of letter font
            3.) Stitching on shield.
Certainly, "Cobra" has been used on copies. For me, after more than 40 years of collecting (primarily Luftwaffe, but some Kriegsmarine), the real tests are not the three set out above, but rather method of construction and materials used. Postwar makers almost always get one of the two wrong.
KMSPAIN is a real authority on Kriegsmarine caps and if he thinks it is real, that would be good enough for me.
I am a new member here, so I don't know if this Forum has extensive postings on cap
construction, but I know there are other forums where there are very extensive hat discussions and I would urge you to join them, too. I'm afraid it will take a lot of study (more than I am competent to give) to give you a level of comfort with caps. My only advice is: Don't believe automatically everything you read; instead, develop your own expertise through study and the handling of real items in the hands of specialists (such as KMSPAIN).
            Very best wishes,
            Harrier

finally i would wish somebody who posted more pics from COBRA,s logos or who knows something from the history of this maker,i khnow is difficult but...

thanks stonemint to share this example....

i can see a few differences with my sailor cap COBRA:1)this example you posted has 2 sttitching rows and mine only one.
2)stamping in mine is silver(as metallic print leaves) and this from you is gold.
3)cobra,s tongue is short lengh in mine and number of rays around logo in mine there is 9 on left and 8 on right,on the e-stand example there are 8 rays for each side

were possible as real COBRAS differents numbers of stitching rows and stamping colours, number of rays around logo, cobra,s tongue lengh?
all COBRAS examples i saw have differences and common points and do you think are all of them could be real example except black logo seen on latvian and janke,s fake

you stated a few months ago about my sailor COBRA as probably real one example(another variant stamping) on this thread too...
                http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ighlight=cobra
i would like to know your thoughts again then compare mine with this new example and if you accept both and others seen on threads about as real ones
                warmest regards

                      hi vaught

i had seen your example before in other threads and this is the only one for sure is a real one but really im looking for more helping to determinate if my cobra sailor cap example with logo in silver, one stitching row, etc, would be considered real one or not, this time i try again with new pics made with my new camera because may be somebody than never had seen before discussions about it can tell another thing about it.........

all this years since i bought this cap and i posted in a few forums pics about it and only i have seen to many probs to determinate originallity with private purchase maker and more included if the hat is cobra, controversial everywhere,no full agreement,a few said ok the cap and another few is fake but the most people have not too much knowledge about it and they don,t respond nothing.

this is my last strenght with new pics addition to verify anything if was possible such thing.

                      warmest regards from ("is pain"...)
