        100% junk
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

He's a "New Member" - rather than just the standard "IMO" & "100% fake" or statements without any empirical evidence to support them, why not 'explain', based on fact & with examples or links (at least) why you're trashing his presentation? This way, he'll know you're smart & get help with a real analysis of the cap rather than expecting him to take your pronouncements as holy writ.

Just a thought (kind-of out of the box but...)

what a great reply!!! I do think a lot of people out there who do that just say this or say that is stupid. If we are a collector forum, then there is the "why" why is it bad. Its great that those people have experience and they sort of hide behind that saying "ahh it is fake, I dont need to say anything more or else the fakers will know more"....I remember reading similar things, but then there is no help to new collectors....

            regards, Les.

I can't answer for anyone else but from my point of view, why should I bother going into detailed explainations when.
              1. The new member doesn't give any information about who he is and why he wants opinions of the item. (Fakers have posted on here before to "test" if their creations pass judgement.)
              2. They can't be bothered to ask any questions other than "real, fake, value?"
              3. Can't be bothered to use the search function to learn a bit about the subject first so they can at least say "I'm not sure but I think it's fake/real because of x, y or z".
To recieve information it's customery to offer some information first, or at least it is in my book. Try taking a dodgy painting into an art dealers shop and barking the question "real, fake, value?" and see how far you get.

Yes that's of course true Ben, but it sometimes dissapoints me too when they just say "fake" or "not good" or something like that. It's not only the new guy that wish to learn, also the guy's that are longer on the forum sometimes don't understand or know why it is a fake one. They want to learn too. Sometimes I have the feeling that some guy's just put an answer to a thread just to give an answer and don't bother whether it is correct or not. Why not give an explanation ? I've asked so many times "why is it not good, why do you think it's fake". You just can't only say "it's fake" and nothing else because you have a big number behind your threads answered and therefore I'm right and don't need to give an explanation. Don't you agree ?

Firstly, it's not about having a big number of posts, forget that.
It's about experience. When I say that people should look back through the old posts first, this isn't just to learn about the subject, it's also learning about which members have experience and have shown their knowledge in their posts.
Lets say I post an M43 right now and someone like Glenn or Bryon (where has he gone lately anyway?) says they have doubts, I will will ask them by pm or email why because even though I know I have experience, I am still learning and I'm still really interested to learn more.
But, it's a fact that a lot of new members show up, post an item ,get an answer then disappear never to be seen again. That is not healthy to the forum, they do not contribute anything.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that every new member is like that, not at all, but it does happen, quite a lot.

Quite correct Ben, I do agree with you. I didn't know you had to PM to know why it isn't good. I'll do that next time. Thanks for the hint mate !
                      It's just ... well...isn't it a bit talking behind the back ?

                              gen m43 cap

Thanks for the advice. I'm working on the refund. It looks like I opened a can of worms. I would like to know why this cap is BS. I didn't feel good with it but I got it from someone I some what trust. This is why I stay away from cloth and medals.
