WW2 Penal visor

Hello,
A short time ago, I posted a request for information about a visor cap that I could not identify. I received quite a few responses indicating this hat belonged to a member of the Penal Battalion. I was told that it appeared to be a fairly nice example, but contained an officers chin cord. A number of members stated that these hats were issued with the NCO type chin strap only. I have since made the change, and wanted to take this opportunity to post it again. I believe this hat is now correct.

Jacques if you want to trade the SS with fake skull the penal is on its way! I actually wanted to pick up an em tunic and cash it tight right now so that was the motive.
