Hi again,

I tried taking some photos of the cap badges but they didn't work out to well so I had to wait until daytime. Here is a photo of the badges.

One of the comments I noticed talked about caps being mucked about with, is this indicating that it is thought that a collector/dealer has added the badges or that the wearer may have changed them.

Also on the tag inside the hat their are two different dates shown 1934 and 1935 (I can't get a decent photo of it) are these dates related to the year of design and make respectively?

Thanks again, can I just clarify something? Is it the insignia aren't appropriate to the cap or that the insignia actually look fake?

If the insignia look fake should I take them off and check the back of them?

Steve, they don't look good, as in fake. Please do take them off the cap and post photos of the reverse.

Hi guys,

I have taken the skull off the cap and scanned the back of it. It appears to have the number 41 and a very faint circular mark near it. The badge itself is bent slightly where the cross bones join the skull which deforms the look of it head on.

I will wait till I hear the verdict on this before pulling the eagle off as it is a bit tricky and I'd be real pissed if I damaged it.
