SS Visor Cap?

Hi,

Can I get some help with this cap? First off I don't even know what it is or whether it is genuine. So if you could help with that, and if it is genuine can I get a name of some websites where I can get an idea of the price range as this has been offered to me and I would like to know what the dealer prices are.

Nice original cap, no problems there. Eagle looks good, skull could be an original Assmann but I'd need a close up to be sure. Dealers price would be around the 5k dollars mark.

Thanks very much for the information, I know a bit about abzeichen but am clueless on uniforms. Thanks also for the pricing info, which I didn't expect to get based on my previous experiences.

I have my doubts about the skull. If you need an original (hard to find) you have to calculate around 700$ more to the cap.

I don't think you'll manage to find one of these on any dealers website for less than 4k anymore..

The more I look at the insigina, the more I think the guys are probably right, i.e. not good. Actualy, when I think about it, I've yet to see an untouched allgemeine cap come out the woodwork with an Assmann skull on it anyway. Anyone else?

I concur--hat is 100% original. Check with the SS guys on their forum regarding the insignia.

Ben--I have yet to see a dealer offer one in the last year for under $5000 US--you must be thinking in Pounds!

Thanks for all the info, I went ahead and bought the cap for $2700US, when I have it in hand I will get some better pictures of it and post them, should be able to do that tomorrow night.
