Sir,
You have a basic Infantry officers jacket with 3 tank badges sewn to the arm,it is not the jacket pictured in the period photo.
You have a visor that looks like the one in the photo but is it? surely the maker of this visor made ones similar or ones that looked like it.
You have spoke to 2 collectors and a dealer that seen the jacket or perhaps owned it with the badges applied which like I said means nothing really.
Without rock solid providence with this set (like me buying it direct from the family or from the wearer himself) I personally would not pay Eleven Thousand dollars for it,but rather for the sum of it's parts only.
But that of course is your business.
Respectfully,
Glenn
Dear Glenn,
I will be the first one to admit that nothing is 100%. We can only base our decisions on the preponderance of the evidence presented to us as our justice system regularly does.
The facts:
1. According to LT Mehlhorn's military records from Freiburg, his was awarded five TDB before his death.
2. The uniform can be traced back to the widow as three honest and trustworthy people have done.
3. The TDBs are properly sewn for a uniform that was tailor made. As you may be aware, most TDB encountered today are field sewn which explains the poor needle-work.
4. The uniform is correctly named to LT Mehlhorn to include a tailor from his home-town in Zwikau.
More to follow when I post the uniform and do more research.
My issues with your conduct:
You deleted a comment I made regarding the source. You have violated WAF policy and should be held accountable accordingly.
Please read my email again, I did not call you stupid, what I said was that your comment was dumb and that you were ignorant. The English language makes a difference between the two.
I have ask that you 'undo' your edit. You have not honored my request and therfore ask that you remove yourself from the forum as I see no value added to your attitude.

Sir,
Issues with my conduct?
Just who in the heck do you think you are anyway? What do you contribute to this Forum other than posting photos of your collection?
No,I think I will stick around for a while but if you keep up your bad attitude I can guarantee that you won't be here for long.
With regards,

Dear Glenn,
OK, let's stick to the issues and stop your personal attacks.
1. Without reason, you edited my posting. Please undo.
2. This is a head gear section and you commented on a uniform. Stay in your lane and refrain form any comments regarding uniforms which you obviously know nothing about.

This is exactly the type of threatening and bullying that I have experienced and would not expect from a member of the forums management. The interaction between members are supposedly based on mutual respect and that is sadly absent in this case. I have a huge amount of respect for Glenns contribution to the forum and his knowledge, but his inter personal and management approach to members that he dislikes for whatever reason, is not acceptable in my opinion. Sir,
Personal attacks...Oh give me a break, you started it with your rude comments.
I gave you my reason for editing your post in post #27,may I suggest you go back and read it.
Uniforms are in my "lane" by the way and I just might know a thing or two about them...Perhaps even more than you think you do.
