It's not even necessary to have seen one visor to give an opinion concerning this PZ cap

The first rude reply from Europe! Huzzah!

I know it doesn't have a prayer, but I am buying an entire collection from a US vet and this was in there among a lot of real stuff. Of course he could have picked up fakes after the war for his den (like this seems to be) but an expert could tell me if the cap is a real Army one with fake SS insignia, or real SS insignia or an fake cap, or whatever. I help out others here without being rude... you think that wouldn't be too much to ask.

              Pfffft!

A bit hard to tell from these photos, but the sweatband looks new.

There may be some original components to the cap (e.g., visor, chincords), but the hat is not a converted army visor; it was built as a reproduction. As to the insignia, I do not know but would not give them any high potential for being real.

I would suggest that if you don't want people to be rude you might want to start your threads with a less antagonistic attitude.

482 posts, and you don't know what I am talking about??

Posts can go on for 10 pages full of opinions from folks that don't have a flipping clue, and I was trying to avoid that. People post for fun, and it's MOST fun to knock an item. This is why the German Helmet Walhalla was created!

I don't waste people's time replying to a call for help if I can't help them, and I don't knock an item that they paid good money for in a casual way... but that's just me.

I am fairly certain what the visor is (i.e. who made it) but in all due respect to the poster can we see a shot under the sweatband at the front of the cap and also a close up of the visor so I can see the crosshatching of the Vulcan fiber? Mike I can assure you my opinion will not be a cheap shot but that of 18yrs of experience specializing in visor caps. I will also include details and not just one word.

Pics are very pixelated, how about some new ones when you get the collection in hand? This way we can give a better assesment of what you have there.

                          Hope that wasn't offensive

What a strange way to start a thread. No wonder it started with a "rude" comment. I'm sure there are people with less then 4 visors who are extremely knowledgeable. Similarly, depending on who's giving the opinion, one word or even one thumb is many times all that's needed.
