    Stonemint....stumped?!

As most of you know, I specialize in the obscure. However, this popped up on ebay recently, and I have no idea what it is. I do believe it is a pre-war or war-time cap with WH insignia added to it post-war:

The seller admits he does not know exactly what it is (and guesses Chaplain, due to the purple velvet band). The wool looks blue-gray, and the piping either red or carmine. It may be just a LW NCO with velvet over the mohair, but it is hard to tell anything from these pics:

Looks like some type of Womens Floral Auxillary unit . On a serious note, I would like to know what it is as well.

                  Now

An excellent investment !!! I sold mine to Bob Hritz years ago and have often regretted my decision. Alas, he had the matching tightly tailored uniform and pimp cane.

Dr Strangelove - I'm sure you told me you had one of those pimp canes and the matching pink leather buttless chaps......

What a cute cap - must be the Reich Rose Gardeners Association.......

Well, we have all heard of "pimp my ride"--I guess this is an example of "pimp my schirmmutzen"!

                          Here's a thought . . .

                          What a hat!

How about the "NS-Schwulenschaft" - the National Socialist Gay Rights Organization? The flower indicates a high ranking official.

Seriously now, purple is usually associated with the clergy but this hat doesn't conform to any known organization. Maybe it was made up for Karnival? Does the purple band slip off?
