    Luft.EM/NCO White Top visor,opinions please

    Hello all,

Yesterday,I bought this nice Luft.EM/NCO's white top visor with golden-brown waffenfarbe for signals personell.

The cap has a visor made of leather, the celluloid sweatdiamond has no damage, only the manufacturers name is gone for 99% ,maybe because of the very dry sweatdiamond, the diamond chips-off very easily

No glowing under the lamp, burntest o.k.

There is also a size marking "VII" as can be seen in one of the pics.

What do you guys think of this one ?

Took some pictures in a hurry,I wanted to make some more shots,but......
Batteries of dig.camera are empty......and the spare ones? empty too

    Here are some pics.

I never see a sweatband in luftwaffe visor cap of this color, but I got a question ,why a visor cap so mint inside is missing the manufacturers name for 99%

      Well,I've seen many,many original Luft.visorcaps with grey sweatbands,mainly officers'and white tops,so that's no problem IMO.
IF they ever replaced the sweatband, they used original war-time thread, because I did the burn test and all that was left was some ash,so it is not synthetic thread.

Also, I checked for "empty" stiching holes ,not one found,so if this is a replacement sweatband, they must have used the old holes to sew it onto the cap, that's nearly impossible I think and also a hell of a job...

And about the sweatshield, there are some traces left of a small makers'mark, but the shield is so dry that the last remains of the logo cracked and came-off,when I removed the white top for a close look,so I don't think the makers'logo dissappeared because of heavy use but due to the fact that the sweatdiamond is very dry,I've seen this before.

Also, the slightly, used look of the sweatband matches the also slightly used look of the inside of the white cotton cover,so no problem at all I think...

You can still see a tiny little piece from the logo at pic. # 2

      Thanks for looking !

Did they have sweatshields on the white cotton top hats? I thought these tops were removable so they could be washed and cleaned. Wouldn't this be difficult if a sweatshield was installed? That is also why most of the adlers were removable on these caps, correct?

Absolutely, Erel was one maker that did that on some of their tops.
