It is stamped 59 and the RBN/592812015.

Billbert and Adrian. Could you be a bit more specific? I agree with you. I don't like the RBN number. My OS caps have only the size stamped in them. The material looks wrong, too. I did not see a closeup of the grommets.
Am I "barking up the right tree?"

The eagle is a very well know fake! Do a search thru this forum and quite a few of these come up. Just recently somebody posted this very same eagle machine sewn to a panzer cap. The eagles are garbage! I can't say much else about the cap except machine sewn fake insignia on a cap is not a good sign.

Yep, a poor reproduction....Also there are no vent grommets on this one from what I can see.

That is a very commonly seen repro eagle now days.
