    Was There an OT Visor?

This has always perplexed me--the existence (or lack thereof) of an Organiation Todt visor cap. M-43's for the OT seem to be somewhat common, but I would have to believe there was a visor.

Now Speer did wear a visor with his OT General's uniform, BUT I believe it is an NSKK leader's cap. Here is Speer's--anyone have a color photo of this hat in wear?

Another photo. If anyone has any info on this (yes, I'm thinking of you, Bob C!) let me know.

I have only ever seen Speer and one other OT General wearing this cap. Is there an officer level visor, I don't know, come up with a photo.

Gerard--thanks for the info, and Mike, thanks for that terrific color shot (which I have never seen before)--I always thought the insignia was gold in the b&w shots--this has disproved that theory--I would love to see one of these in the flesh--an OT Generals has to be one of the rarest around.

            Go to this website:

            http://www.ullsteinbild.de/

In the Search function, type "Albert Speer" -- there are dozens of photos there, if not hundreds. Many in color.

                Color

There is no substitute for color -- and this website has thousands of images. The Search function will yield an enormous cavalcade of photos. I have never seen anything like it.

You will be occupied for a very long time going over these -- and figuring out who you want to search for next.

My Arndt book also had a nice portrait of an OT General with an M-43, but with gilt piping--these books really are an invaluable reference on headgear!
