As with the previous example, this is an early S A model other ranks kepi, which originally was worn with the metal N S K K eagle and tan top. With the uniform change to a black top, the owner of this kepi crudely stitched a piece of black cloth over the old tan top. Another transitional example.
        The cap is circa 1931

Magnificent pieces Mr. Coleman, the only two pieces of NSKK headgear I have is the 1st and 2nd model crash helmets(in display with the proper brownshirt), in april am picking up a NSKK officer kepi to have a good representation of this branch.

            All the best,
            Fred

This thread is a reference book in and of itself. The NSKK has to be the TR organization with the most varied (and complex) headgear--even more so (IMHO) than SA--from the earliest that Bob has shown us, to the later Wehrmacht associated units (including the Luftwaffe!) and spinoffs such as theTransport Korps Speer, Motorschule, and my favorite, the Marine-NSKK.

Robert Noss posted these on the photos forum, so I don't think he'll mind me posting them here, as most of you probably missed this thread. This shows the "evolution" of one NSKK MS officers hat (and uniform!) during the various wartime transitions that the NSKK was so notorious for.
This is the first, with the standard NSKK eagle (note the "Sp" for Speer on the collar tab):

Here is the same guy, same hat, but now he has removed the "NSKK" scroll from his eagle:

Here, he has replaced his NSKK eagle with a WH heer one, and is now fully integrated into the "Transportkorps Speer", so this photo must date from November 1944 at the earliest--and this is the only known photo I am aware of that has the stylized collar tabs for this unit):

Nice helmet! Besides double decal with national colors, I have also seen double decal of the N S K K eagle.

Thanks for adding the photos of the Speer officer. What an amazing array of insignia in a short period of time on one hat!
                                Let's keep this one going!
