Nice caps. John is it possible to see the lining? Any other decent finds at the show. I heard that Heer M43s were impossible to find, true? WR Jim

Very nice Mr Hodgin. I heard there were a few original Heer M43's but with replaced insignia.

Nice caps, guys--but I can't believe this is all that was brought back in the way of soft headgear--if you got 'em, post 'em!

Thanks for the comments fellows! Jim, happy to show the lining, but have not photographed it yet. Am away from the cap now, will do shoot the lining and post it when I return. Interestingly and also atypically, the lining is marked with an RF number, not an RB.

            Regards,
            John

Last question--were Wolfe-Hardin there, and did they have any rare headgear?

Stonemint the first pic you posted was Burmeister's. The one with the PL’s I can't remember. As for Wolf/Hardin I had seen no headgear at all.

I did forget the rarest of the rare I saw. How about an SS generals visor with gold piping and a gold Adler & TK. I just wished I took a pic of it.

John H, I did see a pair of Luft tropical trousers for sale at the show with a Luft tropical tunic. Can't remember the price or where it was.

I saw a few original army hats. One was EM with replaced insignia for $475, average condition. It was still there after a few days. I saw 2 officer upgraded M43's, one had replaced insignia machine sewn thru the lining for $750.

On Friday I saw a M-43 with machine sewn insignia
on "OakleafMilitaria's" table. I went back Sat. morning to buy it and
it had been sold. Anyone know who bought it? What about the two Luft M-43's sitting on the shelf at RelicHunter? Any thoughts?

I looked at the caps Gerard had and liked them. Might have bought one if I hadn't already found the one I posted. You might see if those 43s are on Gerard's site. I bet he would not mind if you posted them here for discussion.

I noticed in the helmet forum pic #22 was also (no surprise) Burmeister's table.

This was SS-general Hoffman's hat--who had it, was it for sale, and if so, how much?

Different angle of Burmeister's table (Nick, you're too focused on the Wehrmacht!):
