M-43 EM Cap - Real or Zinger?

I recently purchased a number of items from my deceased friend's collection. Among the items I acquired was an M-43 EM cap. The lining concerns me; however, I imagine it could have been produced by a small Berlin hat company. All opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance!
