Interesting! What else do you know of Janke? German based?

Since ever from Germany. By the way check out Wilkins book "The collector's guide to cloth third reich military headgear" p.205, there you find more details or just attend to the Stuttgart show in Germany where you see him usually.

        Bestes Erzeugnis

Is this term on the sweatband indicative of a fake or does it appear on real visors?

Only asking because I have seen it on a Non - Janke example.

I don't recall seeing "bestes erzeugnis" on a leather sb, but I would assume Herr Janke saw it on one and decided to incorporate it into his replicas.

I have seen it on sweatshield, however--it simply means "best product". Here is a wartime marking on the sd:

              Janke contact information

Does anybody have the contact information on Mr. Michael Janke?

A friend of mine is doing a documentary on Otto Schick - developer of Waffen-SS camouflage patterns - and he would like to get in touch with Mr. Janke.

Thank you for your help in advance!

              Best regards
              Henrik

Anyone have an example of maker Spohn & Klaiber?

Another spurious Janke stamping: "Wilhelm Gott???"

This one is also quite common, and I have never seen a wartime hat by this maker (if it ever existed, which I doubt): "Hatrika" (this is on a Janke)

This appears to be the latest Janke label--at least he won't have any copyright issues with this one (not that he cares):

"UFD, Deutsche Wertarbeit, Beste Qualitat, Ges. Gesch" (ya right, it'll be a cold day in h*ll before Janke applies for a patent).

BTW, does anyone have pix of an Emil Wolsdorff marked visor? I am 99% sure it is a Janke fantasy (although Wilkins mentions it in his book).
If you google "Emil Wolsdorff", it lists it as a prewar cigar maker out of Hamburg!

Janke repos nearly always exibit 1) a fresh-looking makers mark (applied at time of manufacture or later) not found in the standard source on this subject, and 2) a raised black seam above the stitch-line on the headliner, which is sometimes - but not often - found on period originals.

This appears to be one of this years labels for Herr Janke:
