Railroad Cap Cords

I posted these on the Civil forum, but I haven't gotten any responses. So, I will try here.

Can someone please tell me what era these Railway cap cords are from? Nothing glows in black light, and the inner parts of the slides are either metal or fiber board, not plastic.

Any help will be appreciated! BTW, I have a limited return time.

Thank you for the quick reply, Stonemint.

I bought these feeling I needed to make a purchase for, shall we say, political reasons. I confused the braid with the Kantillenschnur braid used on some original aiguillettes. I know that type of braid was not used for military or political chin cords, but I was unsure about Civil organizations.
