    panzer beret

    Hi
Wondering if anyone has seen a panzer beret like this? Weave appears correct however, interior vents appear different and no maker mark that I can discern. The berets that I have seen are maker marked. Also, possible value? Thanks for your help

The triple digit serial numbers on the SB isn't a good sign. The eagle looks suspicious do you have a clear picture of the insignia?
More info on the triple digit serial numbers on sweat bands in this thread created by member (stonemint)

Eagle is a known reproduction I suspect the cockade might be as well.

The cockade is also a known repro , same period as the eagle .
Regarding the beret , it looks like the very early version with metal grommets
but i do have my doubts : to be confirmed …

Can you provide a better picture of the numbers stamped on the underside of the sweatband? They look like stampings we have seen on the sweatbands of a number of fake caps.
Could be an original tam/cover, with fake insignia and a fake crash helmet underneath.

              panzer beret

              Hi Doug

Unfortunately, this is all the seller furnished. I started having doubts as the ones that I have seen are maker marked with 6 vent holes. I have seen photos of this type of tam in reference books, but never encountered one.

              Thanks

I could entertain doubts on the Entire ensemble.

Hard pass for me. The crash helmet does not match any originals I have seen/handled and as other members have pointed out, the insignia on the beret is reproduction.
