A curious B & N 43 marked Belt Buckle

Greetings to everyone, I have some thoughts on the unit and purpose of this belt buckle.

The buckle is marked B & N 43 with out a tab

However I am sharing this in the hopes that someone would let me know any definitive thoughts on this belt buckle.

I would very much appreciate any thoughts as to whom or what unit with which this may have been associated.

If you search brain buckle or punishment battalion will find threads on these. I don’t remember any proof these were used during the war. These may have been produced post war using war time stock. Most of these are found in near mint condition.

These buckle was used by german firefighters in post war era.
They was made from leftover buckle stock of various producers.
