    I.D.'d Luftwaffe buckle

I picked up a basic Luftwaffe buckle which appears to be " personalized" . On the leather tab is neatly incised:

    W(?). V(?). RAU

    8 Batt

    L. B. A.

    My question to the membership is " what might the L. B. A . represent ? "
I would attach photos but , the inscription is so faint that it is only clear using oblique lighting. Thanks in advance for your help !

LBA means something like Luftwaffe Clothing Depot. It seems like I see it more on first pattern buckles but also on some second pattern buckles and some belts.

The LBA stamp is for Luftwaffe Bekleidungsamt, or Luftwaffe Clothing Office (Depot). Usually followed by a B for Berlin, or S for Sonneberg. If you lightly apply some baby powder to the markings it will help bring them out for taking pics.

I will have to take a closer look at some of my LBA marked tabs. Here is a Luftwaffe Marked belt and something follows the LBA.

Kirby - as Gene stated your belt was issued from the Luftwaffe Bekleidungsamt - Sonneberg
