Luftwaffe Buckle opinions

Hi guys. I am new here, though I have explored the forum a bit in the past. I mostly collect firearms, but do reach out in other areas when something neat wanders up and catches my eye, and this is one of those such instances.

This is a Luftwaffe buckle that is at a local antique shop owned by a friend. If you fellows are kind enough to provide your opinions as to the authenticity, I will probably pick it up.

The buckle is original. Is the leather tab marked? I believe the maker might be F.W. Assmann & Söhne.

Buckle and belt are both original.
As Belten said LW buckle looks like an Assmann.
Just a note, the belt is a political.

Thank you very much! He is asking $150, so I definitely will snag this one.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by it is a political belt? What political members would have worn such a piece, and how do you distinguish between it and a serviceman's belt?
