I have never seen a late(r) war marked buckle. Am I to assume that the steel unmarked, no tab buckles are are all 43,44 (45??) issued buckles? Reason I ask, is I have an ersatz belt and a late leather belt with no strip I would like to marry up with a correct type buckle.
Along those lines. I have seen....even on our E-stand unmarked buckles with a tan-like finish. Old school taught me this is not DAK (tropical) it is late war Ordnance Tan. DAK really only could be told by the canvas tongue as the buckles came in varying shades.
