Tropical Heer Buckle? Dated '41

Hey Guys,

Picked this up today at a gun show... not really an expert with buckles but it kind of looks like tropical paint to me. If anyone can confirm this or tell me anything else about it that'd be appreciated.

Looks like it is mark "MSS '41"

Hello Rylan,

the buckle was made by Mathias Salcher u. Sohne in 1941, but not specifically for use in tropical areas.
