Schmole & Comp. and a Suprise

Hello Picked up this 1936 marked Schmole & Comp. Belt and buckle. When I was taking some photo for estand I came across A Kreigsmarine eagle and M, stamped into the leather belt. Kirby

Very interesteing buckle to me Kirby, when I first looked at the buckle I thought it was a Dransfeld made buckle, the eagles look very similar what do you think? I wondered if Schmole & Comp bought some buckles from Dransfeld early on to help them out at some point, they are from the same town Menden? I dont think they merged as both the aluminium and steel buckles are quite different, just food for thought! Here is a Dransfeld for comparison, could you compare it to your buckle in hand and let me know?

I agree with Ben and IMO it's a Dransfeld buckle retailed by Schmoele

Look at my Schmöle buckles the Heer and the Luft bucklle.. typical Schmöle buckle ( the Steel-buckle ears)

Hello Thanks for the in info. I wondered why the buckle didn't have a trademark. I have three steel Schmole and Comp. buckles. I thought they just did'nt trademark their aluminum buckles. Kirby

Kirby, I wonder if it was a unit stamp from the stores to say its part of the 4th platoon, company etc?
