    Fantasy SS buckle?

This is coming up for auction pretty soon and I wanted to ask those that know- what is it? Original or purely fantasy?

Some of the other items in this auction appear to be later reproductions so it wouldn't surprise me at all if this was a fantasy piece.

    Regards,
    Eric

Thanks guys, another noob saved the expense of getting ripped off. And you all have another buckle with pictures to add to the junk pile.

        Regards,
        Eric

Fake or not, thats a really cool looking buckle. Is it pretty cheap or priced as the real thing? Id personally give $50 or so for it due to its ultra coolness, but thats about the max I would pay for it.

It's not priced at all as it's going to be in an auction this weekend I believe. The scary thing is that someone is going to pay a LOT for it most likely. Since I'm not going to the auction now I have no way of knowing what it sells for. I could try to call them up afterwards and find out though.

            Regards,
            Eric

Hello This buckle does exist. Marc has one pictured in a thread and you can see it in Angolia's book. The construction is different than this repo. I was bidding on one at Manions about 5-6 years ago. It was on a brocade belt and it sold for close to $8,000 with the buyers fees. Kirby

Page 230, has anyone actually got one for interest? Maybe JP or Marc have one?

Manion's was purchased by Marc. Here are its photos when listed.

The rarest (known) is in Pieter Verbruggen's collection. It is the only set brocade / buckle (not a regular SS / Police brocade like the above but a unique one. Probably a prototype brocade as well).
