Hello The buckle looks good but I don't like the prong set up. It looks like a replacement. I'm looking foreward to seeing what other have to say. Kirby

Hello I searched the forum for 63 And I see J. P. has this same buckle with the same prongs. He a SS specialist so these prongs may be OK.

All the above comments are correct. But if we pay attention to the prong tips, it looks like they have the usual shape, very particular to these buckles (57 & 63's). Also, if there was a post war replacement, would it be more logical to find this buckle mounted with either a post-war prongs/post sleeve assembly, either with a more common post-1936 / pre-1945 one? Instead it seems (picture is not very detailed) to be mounted with a very early (pre-1935) post sleeve / prongs assembly much more difficult to find and, no matter what, conform with the period of manufacture of the buckle itself.
So, I will say that we are maybe facing an earlier variant but not a replacement.
